I noticed these flowers when I had bent down to tie my shoe laces. Tiny little flowers were so close to ground that I would have otherwise missed them. Marathi Name is Asood or Junglee Ganja. 😅😅
Flowering is mentioned to be between August to October and I saw these in September. It is native of Indian subcontinent and some parts of China and can be found up to 2400 meters ASL.

These days I have started feeling Spring has more blossoms than monsoons. Many colourfulflowers, orchids and what not! A trail in nature during this time is very rewarding.
So here's one more flower from Mother Earth's kitty: Anjani or Ironwood.
Why Ironwood? because the barks are real strong, often used construction and boat building. It is also believed that the wood was used as fuel for production of Wootz Steel, hence the name Ironwood came in to the play.
This is native of Peninsular India. The flowers bloom around mid January to Mid March. Although the flowers are of bluish Purplish colour are in cluster.
The leaves are also known to have certain medicinal properties. They generate a dye of Yellow colour which was used for dying robes of Buddhist monks.

This is a type of #cactus. The flowers are huge, bloom only in night and have pleasant and strong smell.
The plant originates from #SouthAmerica, southern regions of #Mexico to be exact and has naturalized in #SouthEastAsia along with handful of #Folklores and Superstitions.
Although the local #Maharashtrian / #Marathi name is #Brahmakamal which has nothing to do with the original Brahmakamal flower which blooms only in the #Himalayas at an altitude of 4000 meters and beyond.
Here's one from my 2012 archives which had bloomed at my home.
